PSI-POP New Member 15 Member For: 13y 22d Posted 19/11/12 11:25 AM Author Share Posted 19/11/12 11:25 AM Yeah haven't even turned the Eboost on yet, gate opens at 14psi which spring is but just cant dump enough exhaust out. I believe its down to the gate posistion, we will redo it now with 2 feeds with better transitions. PSI-POP New Member 15 Member For: 13y 22d Posted 11/06/13 07:49 AM Author Share Posted 11/06/13 07:49 AM Well a few updates since I last posted in here.Got all the tune sorted out, went up to a Progate 60 and merged it from the collector and its got fantastic boost control now. Did a few clean up tunes on Bp98 then switched it over to pump E85. The difference is amazing, power comes on much sooner and loves timing. We ended up with 400rwkw@19psi with a slipping auto and what is pretty much a 5500 convertor. In 5psi from the gate pressure of 14psi it makes another 130rwkw. Cant wait to really open up this turbo but the auto is not enjoying its life with this much torque.Pic of how the gate is now.All completed now only a few minor things to fix up.The new my Family stickers.Took it to Heathcote for AFF nats, with the 400rwkw tune and the old set of 255 radials on the back. Was looking forward to seeing how she would go, the 60fts I knew would suffer as I cant hold it on the brakes hard enough, it just pushes thru or spins the tyres. The track was bad for grip but great for power, temps were around 4c. Wheelspin pretty much everywhere but managed a best of 10.36@144mph (1.8s 60 ft) and the other run was a 11.02@138mph. Next run went down to 16psi in the radials, torched the tyres off the line skated up the track and pop, the axle snapped. PSI-POP New Member 15 Member For: 13y 22d Posted 08/01/14 07:54 AM Author Share Posted 08/01/14 07:54 AM Well its been a bit of a update since last post,After the axle drama I thought it was time for a little suspension work over so I got lucky and got the old stuff from RBKILA. Modified the diff brace and added a few bits to try and keep the diff all square to stop the axle happening again.Got a set of Ds2 front runners on 4" rims and fitted a set of 90/10s up front to help with some weight transfer, E series don't squat, they stand up.After that I took it back to Heathcote knowing the diff should be fine and pretty confident. Took it easy on the first run to get a feel and it was fun, think it ran 12 something at 135mph. Next pass gave it a little burnout and a softish launch and it wheelspun and ran a 10.8 @140mph. Next big burnout, stalled it up, was making little over 10psi and BANG broke the C4. Seems to have been a forward gearset, and no gears expect reverse.I also chanced upon this, and thought a 9" would be nice. Just a housing and 31 billet axles, so then got a centre from Moser, went with 3.5's Full spool nodular case. The final nail in the coffin for this round of updates is the "Glide. Got it built in the states with a converter for much cheaper than here filled with better parts. Its a Coan filled with the stuff you find in 1200hp+ glides and a custom converter at around 4500rpm. Using a Quicktime bell as its SFI rated and that's the same reason I went with the Reid housing. The only thing I'm waiting for now is the Tailshaft, picking a chromemoly shaft up with strange unis and couplings in a few days time, then we can see how it goes before putting a bit more power in it. 1 Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/82886-psi-pop-ed-gli-dohc-project/page/2/#findComment-1448896 Share on other sites
