Adam, there are heaps of topics on cats and exhausts. There is nothing wrong with a cat vs no cat debate. The topic is already titled correctly.

Also SHP, With cat I see a higher torque figure and peak power made earlier. Without cat I see a fatter torque curve in the low - mid range but all that would be like it is because you asked for it. Unless the tuner specifically said you can't get the tune you are after with a cat so better punch it. Never heard of a tuner saying that though.

Its really funny.I actually come from world of mobikes.what's the first thing that happens? Exhaust with cat goes out of the window. Bikes are sold with aftermarket exhaust as part of the package..maybe they pollute less? Out of 100 cars on the street how many are xr6ts with no cat on a given day? How many are tuned for high power? Negligible.most ppl use a car.they r not enthusiasts.

See the linky I posted? 0cell vs 100cell

Also, how may in the 600 club have a cat?

Not me, cats are gay.

There is no cat out there that will handle or be efficient over 600kw no matter what they say. we saw significant gains at only 500hp let alone a 1000hp. You can all say what ya like the effect that they have on the enviroment is f all to none & it doesnt effect ya bloody passengers what do think happens at any speed when ya exhaust is out past ya rear bumper at any speed. wind ya window up & press the recycle air button :/

Valve springs are on there way out. I actually wanted more power up high, the low down torque was a bonus. Won't make power up top until I can afford the valve springs/cams/headwork . . . . . it never ends.
