Hey guys, I currently own an n/a fg falcon, and have a 2 1/2" x-force catback on it with a hi-flow cat. Im posting in this section to get some feedback on different kinds of mufflers, ie. hooker mufflers, im just chasing a bit of a different note as as it stands the car sounds a bit like a v6 commy, has anyone tried any other kinds of mufflers? the system has 2 straight through mufflers, any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys, Sam.

Have to say that you will spend a while figuring out how to get a "note" out of the N/A falcon 6. For what ever reasons, they seem to have a tendency to drone or just sound like a raspy holden . . . . But then, they are not alone as the old Mercedes DOHC and BMW SOHC straight sixes were just the same. Being honest, you are on a hiding to nowhere with this. Everyone has a view on what sounds good and what does not. Maybe talk to a few exhaust shops and see if they have had any luck with systems.

In easier and cheaper times, did a tiny bit of work on a Merc 6 to get a better sound. That was a twin all the way with a very basic centre resonator and rear muffler (straight through designs.) The first couple of attempts were singles which really were cr*p. The twin was a copy design off another mercedes. All dumb luck that it worked out.

yeah I dont really want it any lounder, quieter would be better. I kinda had a feeling I'd chase my tail on this one, may try a different centre muffler and leave it at that, thanks for the replies guys. muchly appreciated, Sam.
