So bored and trying to not think of my car problems. Hahaha. I logged fault cleared it and asked around and I put it down to hitting limiter with stock valve springs, which "confused" a few things. I have hit limiter since and its never come up again but I know I have bad springs so they are getting changed next week. I also changed cyl 6 coil and plug to see if it would come back up and it never did. If I were you I would check all wiring plugs, injector, and change plug and coil from cyl 2 to a different cyl and see if it ever happens again. SecaBoy Donating Members 203 Member For: 16y 3m 11d Posted 14/11/12 12:17 PM Author Share Posted 14/11/12 12:17 PM *sigh*Happened again twice just then. First cyl 6 and then cyl 4. Just trying to flash it with another tune and I think I've stuffed something up. Got heaps of 'fault' messages coming up on the dash of the car and it's stopped at 'unlocking ecu. Please wait' on the xcal3. Could it just be bad fuel? SecaBoy Donating Members 203 Member For: 16y 3m 11d Posted 14/11/12 01:15 PM Author Share Posted 14/11/12 01:15 PM Soooooo. Flashed it back to stock and then the custom tune successfully. Still misfiring. But now it stalls when I select reverse. Ugh. Over it. It'll have to sit there until elite have time for me to tow it to them. SecaBoy Donating Members 203 Member For: 16y 3m 11d Posted 01/12/12 02:55 AM Author Share Posted 01/12/12 02:55 AM So the story goes...... Pulled the fuel filter out and cut it open. The filter had unbonded from the metal and all the bonding was either missing or loose. Problem solved...... Or notEngine was fine for 250km. Then started misfiring badly on idle and just broke down under any load. Pulled out the plugs and cyl 5 plug was closed on itself. There is a very small mark on the piston where it looks like it's kissed the plug. Has anyone heard of rod flex on a standard engine with 400hp?Seems quite strange to me. Let me just add something though. I drive my car pretty hard. Any comments would be appreciated.
