Apart from the track kms the rest of my driving is pretty easy cruising kms and I usually see a lot of kms out of tyres and the like.I guess this is why people get track only pads, I thought the reds being street/track they should be ok... didn't think I'd smashed them that much at the track given they were my first two track days.Other things was they must have been just waiting to die on me, my track day was almost 3 weeks ago and what gave away that something was wrong was on the drive to work today I had this horrible grinding sound through the last few roundabouts, pretty cruisy drive to work too. They were on DBA 4000 T3s (on an FG). Both the pads on the inside of the rotor had the back metal plate fall off when I took off the caliper. They looked pretty cooked and the other side looked pretty brittle and ready to break apart. It's a good thing I kept the stock pads. Was really happy with the pads otherwise, awesome bite once warmed up and no squeal (anti brake squeal is a must). Will probably keep the stock pads in there till next year when I hit the track in cooler weather, get some track pads, or see if I've saved up for all my mods yet (brakes, suspension and engine). They held up perfectly at the track, got my fastest time in the last session so they were still going strong then. Ill probably go a track focused pad instead of street/track like the Reds. Ill see how long it takes before I can't take the stock pads again lol.

If you want a great road/track pad try the EBC Blues, I went from red to blues and the bite of the blues are miles better throughout the temp range. So it is kinda like the shorter events that ScatterBrain refers to?So, I would have thought the Redstuff would have been the recommended pad given OP only did a couple of track days there. From what I've heard the downside on the yellows and blues is they take a while to get up to temp, which ain't always great on the street? I'd thought any of the others like yellow or blue just wore away too much on the street since they would be too much out of their optimal temperature range, also thought the reds bordered on that anyway. Will just have separate pads for track.Sure have noticed going back to the stock pads though lol.
dbXR60 Member 24 Member For: 13y 11m 18d Posted 16/11/12 11:40 PM Share Posted 16/11/12 11:40 PM (edited) I had brochures given to me that say the redstuff are 'fast road use and occasional track use', and that bluestuff are 'dedicated race car, track use only' !!!Good to hear from people with experience in both these pads. Did a bit of digging, and the Aus site seems a bit out of date with info on bluestuff. The US Site has a bit more info, and mention "biggest advantage of EBC Bluestuff NDX is their bite from cold".What setup you running rotor/caliper/car wise scatterbrain? And how pricey were the blues compared to reds? Edited 16/11/12 11:40 PM by dbXR60
