Probably not as good as the Kumho's I had in the wet by a small margin, but just as good in the dry. The Kumho's got worn out in 14,000km's, where as you could hardly see much wear on the Achillis at the same km's.... this time I'm going to get the Achillis ATR Sport 2 which is meant to grip even better in the wet, be quieter on the road and have a better rim protector. But yeah, definitely not a bad tyre the achillis.. have a google search there is a ton of reviews. My first set came from a site called TheWheelDeal (I think they're a site sponsor?)... However JaxQuickFit has a special atm and without needing postage it works out cheaper. (ATR 1 $119, ATR 2 $129)

I was worried to start with before I done a bit of research and found out how highly reviewed they are!

Currently have 255/35 falken 452's on the rear but they're okay. Once you got some heat in them they grip alright but I can still spin the last bit of first to second in a stock FG. Can't compare them to anything else in the same size on the same car unfortunately. Previous experiences with achilles have been good but they currently only go up to 275/30 and I want 285/30 so that's why federals and falkens are an option. By the sounds of it no one is overly impressed with either so might just have to live with a little stretch and save a bit of coin going the achilles

And the grip on the last two would be fairly close but the Achilles will last twice as long.

Great to drive with them in the wet, makes you feel safe and in control of the car. Two biggest drawbacks are that the rears are pretty much going to need replacing soon after about 12,000 kms on them and when you're doing 110 Km/h + on the freeway they are very noisy. Perfectly quiet around town but yeah, after an hour and a half on the freeway and your ears are ringing from the constant noise.Going to try the Nitto Invo's next I think

Bulletime Donating Members 937 Member For: 14y 1m 27d Gender: Male Posted 13/11/12 11:05 AM Share Posted 13/11/12 11:05 AM I got 25,000 kms out of my falken 452s and it was the inner edges that killed them. But I had them running on about 40psi, and I do a lot of kms and most my driving is open road. As for grip well not much grip at that pressure lol, got plenty of squeal obviously. When I knew the tyres were toast and I dropped the pressure down to what it should have been the grip was awesome, went from brutal traction control to barely even noticing it (all on stock power too). Can't comment on the other tyres though, I'm running Michelin pilot super sports which are mega pricey but absolutely unreal, better grip at high pressure that the 452s at their best. I'm keen to know what the archillies are like too for a cheaper tyre.
