Hi Guys,

Basically the Tyre store I goto has these two Tyres at a similar price range.

Which one is the better Tyre for Grip

Which is better for Handling.

Has anybody had both of these tyres back to back on the same car at the same power level?

Heard the Falken 452s where good for their price but I've not tried them. PM Rudiger for his experience with them. I paid $250 per corner for Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetrics 2s in 17". I've written up about them in Tyre Comparo topic in this section. Heard that the Federals were a mixed experience and once again not tried them. I was thinking of buying Falkens though - got as far as getting quotes - think they were close to $200 per corner from memory.

Also Google UK Tyre Review - they've got a good tyre comparison website with ratings.

Hope this helps :beerchug:

SS595's are pretty bad, noisy, soft sidewalls and they love to aquaplane. Can't comment on the grip of the RSR's but they look as I'd they'd have the same aquaplaning prob as the SS's without vertical sipes (aka most bridgestone/conti's)

Spend a bit more, tires are the most important part of your car.

452's were an awesome budget tyre on WRX (was only getting 8-12k kms per set)..

Had 595's in 19's on a BA.. Can't say they wow'd me much.. But still an alright all rounder.. Neither was a quiet tyre though.

595 grips pretty well in the dry, not noisy around corners, tread wear pretty bad and they don't give much confidence at all in the wet.

I've got Falken's on my XR6 Turbo atm and they seem alright, but haven't been pushed hard yet.

Buy some Achillis ATR Sport, they're better than both and I am getting a set put on my XR6T in a few weeks.
