Hi,

I've noticed out of all the cars I've driven, my FG XR6 Turbo has some real bad throttle lag, it feels like the amount the throttle opens

is not proportionate to the amount you hit the gas, like it's holding back the power. I guess it's this way to make it more friendly

for some people to drive the car but it sort of makes everything feel laggy.

Is there any way to improve this or a common mod or something like that? or is there any Tuners that know how to fix it with a flash tune

or similar.

I'm in Perth, if anybody can help out let me know what can be done.

Cheers.

Wow usually the fg xr series has nothing but praise on how responsive it is , maybe u have a basic issue like a split hose or something ?

Yeah either it's just me or something, would need somebody to check it out for me.

Was thinking if hose was split I'd hear a huge whooshing noise of boost leak, but quiet as no unusual noises.

Car is 10,000km , I wonder if my Boost solenoid is stuffed and not making the turbo boost fast enough and making it lag perhaps?

I heard of them going bad around 70,000km.

But that might be separate Issue.

Whether it's just how the car drives or not, but to put it into a comparison, an Auto R33 GTS-T with Standard Turbo

has more seat in the pants pull than my car when you plant it.

Hate to be checking cooler pipes and fitting boost guages to troubleshoot a near new car ha ha

Depending on where you live but there is some capable crew around in Perth that would be willing to have a look. There's a few good tune shops around that could advise also.

Being drive by wire there are tables in the calibration that control this....but I couldn't be 100% it's tune related based on what you're saying.

It should feel fairly snappy.

I know what u are talking about the delayed throttle is a characteristic of the fly by wire not as direct/snappy as a jap car cable. Have to remember they are a long stroke engine too not 2.5l but if its slower than a stock r33 something is very wrong.
