?? that's how mine has been for 6 months? the cable goes from the battery onto the starter, on top of the existing cable that goes to the fusebox? shown a couple guys and they all said it was fine?

Mines like this aswell. Needed to keep the old positive to go to the fuse box, otherwise no start!

as long as its a decent joint cant see an issue unless u start adding heaps of extra metres and run a big load throught it

a good quality barrel style crimp and heat shrink will be a good start
