NEw Years Eve - mdnight to eight am. 45 drink drivers at an everage of 1 in 40 tests.

With all the saturation in the media people still took the risk. No wonder people die out there.

The "T" took a flogging for 7 hours straight chasing down all the "runners" 100% percent capture, it was light a snake pouncing on the rats. The 7 hours were more like 7 minutes with the fun I was having. Very disappointing I was kept busy though. :(

Curious you have to :banghead: at these people. In NSW after 7 days of the holiday traffic season there were over 1000 drink driving offences and 10,000 speeding offences Just goes to show you how many derrrrrrrrrs are on the roads :banghead:

Curious, sounds like you have the fun part of police work, I envy you. You must get some incredibly hot runs around the streets.

This DD message is slow to sink in with a lot.

Be interested in the stats, eg how old etc, has the message got through to us oldies and the younguns haven't learnt, or have they grown up with the drink drive, bloody idiot mentality anyway and we have yet to relearn.

Or is it just a matter of there being idiots from all ages and walks of life.

I'm amazed that anyone would drink drive on New Year's Eve. Surely they would realise that there would be a lot of police on the roads.

Mind you, here in Adelaide I was driving on NYE and only came across 1 RBT. And that was getting traffic heading towards Glenelg (major party spot in Adelaide) rather than traffic heading away from there. Didn't make much sense to me.

Oh, I did see one other RBT getting traffic heading out of the city centre. That made a bit more sense to me.

I have seen no police or RBT at all since I stopped work on the 19th of Dec. New years eve from Gold coast to Northern suburbs of Brisbane/85kms=nothing.

I have been RBT'd 3 times since Christmas, and driven past another 3.

4 x cops with speed guns.

I'd be interested to know how many were only just over 0.05 and how many were way over.

Don't get me wrong - I'm amazed that people still drive drunk but I read an article in the paper that said driving at 0.05 affected a drivers reflexes the same as if the he/ she was driving at 10 km/h over the limit - and how many of you out there do that regularly?

Average was 0.08% and higher, highest 0.219%. Average age mid 30's. Lowest 0.051%.

Had one bloke with the ordasity to tell me that cars are out there not indicating and we are wasting resources doing this. I stared blankly at him and shook my head.
