At the end of the day... I'm sure Rodney would prefer a big fat cheque from housing developers.

As you know they can subdivide that land in tiny 500sqm blocks and sell them for $250-$300k.

Add all that up with how much land is there, and you will end up with quite a nice figure.

I seriously doubt there will be some upgrades done, there's only so many times you will say no to developers, as they've been hounding him for years.

I hope you're wrong.

If our Gov is responsible it will build one to prevent street racing.

On second thoughts there is nothing in it for our Gov. Just wont happen.

Put yourself in Rodney's shoes, you could sell it for 50 million, or deal with the head aches of managing it and only pull 150 thousand out a year.

Calders goooooone.

Heneries right..

Drag racing doesn't bring in much money.. And insurances etc would cost a fortune.. Add to that constructing and maintaining 1km (give or take) of combined concrete and asphalt road pavements.. Not cheap..

Smart business sense is to sell it.. Gubberment won't build ya one either.. Too expensive.. Not enough returns.. If it was me.. I'd be using the existing drag strip as the main drag of the subdivision.. Put a nice garden down the centre of it.. and save yourself some money in road costs.

Steve - do you want me to create a new thread for the Calder park discussion or are you happy to leave it here?

I spoke to Calder today and there definitely closing guys I just came out and asked the question straight up and they didn't beat around the bush at all, unless rodney keeps it going which I really doubt there's no where in Melbourne we can race. Sad really
