1. No communication of what's wrong.

2. No communication when it will get rectified

3. No apologies at all

4. No discount.

It's like they bury their head in the sand thinking the prob will go away.

They have ignored every question, and there have been numerous on their facebook site.

When we had our member meeting Monday night Calder were supposedly finding out the problem that Monday or the next day to get in touch with us to borrow ours spare parts if that was found to be the problem.

I know they had been dead for a few weeks. This is the only info I know.

Our track doesnt discount if the time boards dont work. Time slips still print normally and usually times are announced over PA.

Hey have a mate who's a surveyor for Australand apparently they will be surveying the area in january so that combined with I've noticed allot of infrastructure going in around the area. Im pretty sure its a done deal just have to wait for them to announce it so....... noticed Cherry Lane(Laverton) is pretty quiet during the night so off I go with my measuring wheel and marker paint anyone got a decent stop watch ??

You can get portable lasers with a time clock for running. Don't see why it can't work with cars.

Mate, come on I have organised the marking paint and the measuring wheel if we can get some one with one of them or a stop watch bang where in business.

If there is one thing calder raceway has taught us all its that you don't need to maintain your track or amenities there has to be little to no organisation of the drags, all you have to do is charge people for coming and having maybe (if you are mad lucky) 3 runs (reality is if you get a second run its a good night)

TRUTH BE TOLD I'm actually pretty devastated that its going, handy thing to have 20mins down the road especially when the only other real option now is heathcote

oh well we should have told the government it was a Controlled Safe Shooting Facility for addicts they would have funded the thing to stay open

A major shake up for Melbourne’s Calder Park Raceway with a change of management and the sacking of existing staff.

December 15 will see current Calder Park staff, including track General Manager Ian MacArthur, leaving as the Bob Jane Corporation, now under the control of Rodney Jane, takes control of the venue.

Mr MacArthur told In Pit Lane that until December 15 it would be business as usual for the circuit with all currently scheduled meetings, including this Friday night’s Off-Street Drag Racing event, and December’s Mopar Nationals going ahead as planned.

Mr MacArthur said that as far as he was aware all current commercial sponsorships and contracts for 2013 would be honoured and that the track was not closing.

He also said that the major development of land adjacent to the circuit for new railway siding yards were going ahead. These plans include a possible railway station for Calder Park.

He said that he hoped that the new management will try and raise the funds to redevelop the venue which he said was an asset, not just for motorsport but for the entire community.

“People forget that apart from our motorsport and commercial events that the track is also used by many local community groups including the scouts, local cycling clubs and the like.’

‘We do a lot of work with the local community and charities and I would hope that would continue.” he said.

Calder Park first opened it’s gates in 1962 and featured many major events in it’s history including the Australian Grand Prix, a round of the World Touring Car Championships and the Australian Drag Racing Nationals.

The 1.8 km “Thunderdome” brought NASCAR style Stock Car Racing to Australia in 1987 and was a popular Summer attraction for several years.

The track has also hosted several major concerts including Guns ‘n’ Roses, Fleetwood Mac and Santana.

Former racing champion Bob Jane, who bought the circuit in the early 1970’s has been involved in a long standing dispute with both the Confederation of Australian Motorsport and the Australian National Drag Racing Association, which has limited the use of the track over the past decade.

In Pit Lane have tried to contact Rodney Jane about his plans for the circuit’s future however as yet we have had no reply.

Rang my mate told him that and he says "Explain's why they would be surveying the area" lol the dick so maybe I have got upset about nothing and have been convinced by someone who is actually less informed then myself
