Soft, strip it and have one more crack with different plates! Word on the grapevine is that calder is shutting down december ish :-s

Ru serious about shutting down. Surely not. They have invested massively lately. Heard they spent at least $30 on a 12 yo kid to do some weeding in the stands.

Get your spanners out Blake and get rid of 200kg and I'm in.

And what's with the time clock not working last 2 meets. Could not get my time crossing the line. Drive all the way around to pick up slip only to find Blake and Dave from Nizpro beat me to it. As I drove up fn Blake indicated that I was so close then said I did a 10.001. U could imagine my response. Then he hands me the slip and smiles. I could have killed that fcker for putting me through that. Revenge is a dish best served cold Blake. :)

From what I know from a fairly decent source Apparently Calder Park is closing down after next meeting and won't be opening for whoever know's how long, there is a possibility that it may never re-open at all, there is also talk of a possible sell off to developer's for housing, the whole staff have been told that this next meeting will be the last and they have all been given the a$$...

Apparently last couple of meet's have been Bob's last scramble for scavenging cash which as why cost's have gone up to grab some extra while he can...I'm told he has to hand the track over to his eldest Son, who is now the New owner by a certain date just before Xmas, so Bob is no longer the owner, it is up to his son's discretion as to what become's of the track, the fate of it is in his hand's, so it may be fixed up and stay as a track, or it may be sold off to developer's and he'll walk away with a nice large bank balance...

Apparently the timeboard's weren't working because the son had takin some intrumental part of it off so they wouldn't work, not sure if this was just to piss bob off and cause backlash from racer's towards him or just because it's a sign of thing's to come...

Rodney Jane attended the Top fuel event here recently and the organizer of these events at AIR said Rodney Jane is keen to keep drag racing here for a long time to come or to that effect.Hopefully some of this passion flows into Calder.

The whole management is farked. Surprised it has stayed open this long. It would be a shame to see it shut. People that love the sport and are responsible to not race on the street would be hurt badly by the closure, me included. Hopefully it will be redeveloped into a better track and be managed by someone that will actually listen to their customers. I did notice that there is only 2 events scheduled for Dec and none for Jan which is a bad sign.
