toads - would you recommend that setup or a 0.7?

I ask because I have a spare 0.5 front cover and machining wouldn't be a drama.

Not quite sure on the power potential of the 0.5 cover. It's just another option....some places will supply the GTX35 with a 0.5 or even a 0.6 (from a 3576) upon request. E.g. ATP Turbo.

A GTX3582r has a 0.7 cover and Garrett claims 10% more flow over the stock GT3582r that has a 0.7cover.....so one can only assume a GTX35 with a 0.5 cover would have ~10% more flow over a stock ford BA/BF/ FGF6 turbs.

I would go a 0.7 cover, but don't discount the 0.5....ford engineers must have gone down this path for a reason. Easy fitment probably one of them.

Thanks for the feedback.

Anyone know what size intake is on a 0.6 cover?

This just gets more and more complicated every time I call or read something new :P

My budget is 3k, I'm really trying to stay under that as otherwise I'm going to run my bank accounts dry :(

6boost said this:

Highmount - $1300

External gate turbo 6766 - $2300

Turbo Smart Wastegate - $400 ish

Plus labour to put it on! Wad up blown my budget haha.

Mr Turbo is the way to go mate $1795 plus straight piping and retune should be in your budget

You can get a gtx3582 with std .50 cover/3" opening.....but why would you.

The gtx took me 4 hours to fit including dissassembly and reassembly of turbo and several beers :) it really isnt that hard... Keeping in mind I already had 4" intake and battery relo etc... I dont see what all the fuss is about... Great mod for the price

What took so long?
