Gtx 35/82R.. Best Way To Go?

Just remember $2.5k for a GTX35/82r vs $5K+ for a 6766 highmount!!!!

I have just gone down the aftermarket manifold path and its a hassle and a half.

A 6766 would be a lot laggier I suspect than a T3 GTX3582r (I have no data to prove and this is only my opinion).....A 6466 would be a better choice if you're going down the aftermarket manifold path. I agree that it would be much much better.....but just be prepared to fork out $$

I've been looking for info on 6466 or 6766 on the falcons, and haven't been able to find anything.. Every ones all GTX up in here.. :(

Where's all the twin scroll high mount precision dyno charts at..???

After seeing the numbers coming out of even 6262 equiped SR20 I think a 6466 would be an amazing street turbo..

390rwkw out a 5558 on a silvia.. and that's a tiny turbo in comparison..

GTX conversion is not as straight forward and cheap as everyone thinks.

2.5k for a GTX3582R turbo (including exhaust housing)

+wastegate porting ~$300

+new cold air intake to suit 4" - could be up to $700

+battery relocation - could be up to $400

+silicon adapter coupling for comp outlet to hot side I/c piping ~$50-$70

+misc items (gaskets, washers etc) ~$50-$100

+tune due to diff a/f ratios ~$900

Either the bloke you spoke to is new to his job or you didn't explain it properly.

It is the point that the wastegate actuator takes the boost reference from.

I've circled them in red..

Don't mean to hack in on this thread or sound dumb but I recently bought one of these GTX3582r's from Joe at CMS and by the looks of things it does not have the nipple for the wastegate actuator on the housing. What's the go can my tuner put this on for me when they fit up the new turbo? Goes in next week.

When I was looking at changing my turbo setup I looked at the precision pt6766 which can produce about 900hp. But to look at things from a budget position the MTQ options was better it only cost $1795 and is a straight bolt up just having to change the piping on the hot side that's all. If you look at the cost of going high mount your looking at $2500 for the ball bearing pt6766 $1300 for a 6boost manifold new dump pipe about $900 plus new waste gate about $500. To put a high mount onto a stock motor will not last so there is the cost of building your engine to suit which could be anywhere from $2500 and upwards.

My motor is built and I'm going to see how the MTQ goes. A 470rwkw street car is perfect for me as it is a daily driver.
