It's possible that you have have overheated the box or neutralized it by way of frying e drum frictions. But could be a number of things and until you get it time a shop you won't really know. Id be very surprised if any dealer touches the insides bar the usual seals an mechatronics. This stops you being lurched forward as it grabs 1st, but a pain if your slowed to 1 km/h at an intersection then get on the gas, a split second of hesitation then thud into first and off ya go.
