Won't be an input shaft at 120 kmph more likely an intermediate shaft but at 330 rwkws that's really nowhere near enough power to break an intermediate.

It's possible that you have have overheated the box or neutralized it by way of frying e drum frictions.

But could be a number of things and until you get it time a shop you won't really know.

Couple of questions.

What dtc code came up?

How many kms on the box?

Has it ever been serviced?

How many ks has the box had 330 rwkws through it?

If the box needs to be rebuilt I'd suggest sending it to Nizpro rather than Ford rebuilding it with stock parts and charging you an arm and a leg.

Benny.

was told how much ford was being charged when they had to replace them under warrennty. yes anythings rebuildable, best bet would be to get some quotes from trans places, or see if you can get a seconhand one from a wreck or something

Was there any prior problems before this happened ? was it playing up ?

Only reason I ask is I'm a bit sus of my ZF, been doing some weird things of late, not all the time, just now and then, but at real low speed.. like not finding the right gear when almost stopped and then you take off and your in a gear to high for the speed.. and I have no ZF tune or nothing, so unsure how to proceed..

My does this sometimes too, since new as well. Was told quiet common, to do with the tables in the ZF tune, don't quote me but from memory "there are over 50 tables in the ZF tune of which a couple are responsible for this issue".

I was told by my auto guy, the ZF wont select 1st gear untill it see's 0km/h. This stops you being lurched forward as it grabs 1st, but a pain if your slowed to 1 km/h at an intersection then get on the gas, a split second of hesitation then thud into first and off ya go. Just part of the ZF charm.

You'll find the ZF takes off in 2nd more often than not.

That is entirely depndant on your driving style. If you are a quick lights jumper within a month or even less the ZF will default to 1st gear take offs.
