After only getting standard sound, and absolutly kicking myself for that too, I'm thinking about putting an MP3 player in the tissue space.

What are some good models?

How does look in a manual (baring in mind 5th gear, might be a bit hard to insert cd's)

Any Comments?

:innocent:

Im seriously thinking of the Creative LX100 or LX200.

These units rely on USB for recharging (yep, the rechargable battery is inbuilt) and u get 128 or 256 memory which is about 35 or 70 mp3z recorded at 128bit if my calcs are correct. THe LX100 costs about $210...well it did at the last computer fair I was at. You dont need to insert CDs with this model, its a solid state player, I.e. download the mp3s from ya PC via usb and store them on the device. ;)

Those portable MP3's are great, but knowing me, I would lose it or something like that, so I was more after one that is perm. in the car. Also, 1 CD is 700MB and you can have as many cd's in your car as you want. Perfect for a long drive, say from nowra to perth in May....

Picked up a Nomad Zen NX yesterday from Hardley Normal on there yearly clearance Sale for $442.00 it's got a 20GB hard drive and fit's in the tissue box slot just right, has the added bonus of portability on those rare occasion's when i'm out walking.

Need to remember that it's still running when you turn the ignition off and it's a shoot and miss affair without a remote to change tracks, but other than that it seem's upto the task so far.

I'll let you know in a few days what I realy think of it once I've had a chance to use it a bit more.

I bought Myself a iPod, 30gb for $799, But I've actually run out of CD's to turn into music and I've still got space left.

I also picked up the Belkin Car Charger kit for it so the battery no longer goes flat before the music is complete.

However I required the Aux Input for it to connect. But there probably are other ways, such as a FM Radio type mp3 capable CD Stackers.

Not advertising but for example the bottom of the three FM Modulated stackers on this link is MP3 CD Compatible and has a remote and will work obviously with your current ICC and best of all requires very little cutting or changing of your consoles and can be moved from car to car.

As for a permanent MP3 Capable Stereo it would somehow have to be intergrated into the ICC to work in the manner you mention.

I think that's something that's been convered in other threads to do with Stereo upgrades.

yeah XR6NA, I think there about $70-80, the tissue box bit is swapped over so the ring around the cigarette lighter glows, you get a ciggie lighter, and an ashtray.
