Yeah mine has like a rattle. Sounds like a coin somewhere. It's road speed dependent. Had most of it apart but can't find anything. May be a flap come loose or something.

The fan goes flat out randomly then all works ok. It's weired and annoying its intermittent. Just when I get motivation to change the him it comes good and I don't touch it. It seems like it does it if I put the fan to full, like the variable resistor sticks or shorts to earth.

Think I'll give the fan changeout a go. Seems easier than the him.

Oh and the filter you seem to forget about gets pretty gross. Recommend people have a look at it.

Yep - Wil give that filter a clean out - park the car under a maple I think and this time of year get all the flying seeds into the front vents at bottom of windscreen. Cleaned in May last during the VIC DIY Day - will clean it again before the Snowy Cruise in less than 3 weeks

^^ when was the lat time you cleaned out the filter behind the glove box?

Hi there did that early on

I removed the fan but only 2 terminals into this + -

could not find one to test against but consensus was 2 terminals would not have a control in it for speed

I may have to bite the bullet and go with a second hand HIM about $140 so not too bad

but a "fun" job to fit

looks like taking all the dash out

Yeah there is a step by step on here how to do it.

On my phone so finding the link a bit hard. But I know it is good and detailed. And involves a few steps of " have a beer" so it's my kind of tutorial.
