Incorrect your theory is not right. You need to look at turbocharger size and the efficiency of the turbocharger as well. Intercooler efficiency is measure in more areas than just "cools better" On an engine with a GT35 or similar frame turbo I could agree that a tube and fin intercooler would be more efficient for daily use and abuse. On a larger frame turbocharger like a GT42/45/47 which has higher flowing capacity you will find that a tube and fin intercooler will be more efficient. Its not about how well an intercooler cools, its matching the right intercooler to the rest of the gear. After testing and data logging all my mates coolers and trying about 3 different types of intercoolers on my last car I went with a tube and fin on the street. I sacrificed 2-4degrees of cooling for an intercooler with less pressure drop meaning more response. I would rather sacrificed 2-4degrees of cooling making my turbo work less meaning lower engine bay temps. Lastly we could debate this all day but all bar and plate coolers are not made the same and the same goes for tube and fin. Some will be more efficent than other, other will be worse factor that in as well.

You sound like you're on the money, although 99% of OEM intercoolers (cars and trucks) and radiators ARE tube and fin, not bar and plate.

Bar and plate was specifically designed for custom sizes.

Went to the Fast Torque Performance Engineering Concept Dyno Night last week,

There will be regular dyno nights held utilizing the latest Mainline 2500 hp chassis dyno.

The PW Stg 2 performed very well on my car and made 401rwkw on the first run and then backed up with 406rwkw on the second run.

Have been very happy with my PW Kit and can see why Kevin passionately backs his products.

On my old bf I went from a pw stage 1 to a rapid 3 I think and the rapid was much bigger but my gains were very minimal (not worth it), I'm now onto my 3rd xr6t and I won't go anything other then pw, but people also rave about plaz...just my 2cents

george your car was bloody inpressive on the dyno pulled very consistant power sounded tops and there was like 2 people watching the car first run and the second was like 40 people just shows what the xr6t can do you have a ligit 400+ rwkw and it good to be around people who dont talk constant sh*t, I look forward to the next dyno day.

Thanks Chris, was really happy that it made what it normally makes on Spiros dyno.

Also happy that it backed it up on the second run.

I have the fg nizzy cooler kit but I also have a big front mount zf cooler and on power runs 2/3/4 my power drops , due to the heat the trans cooler soaks into the intercooler out let area but iam more inclined to have dipping power on the dyno but a cool zf

It was always going to be a trade off ( did the same thing on my ba ) but ive also got a original zf and I honestly think " keeping cool " the zf has kept it in one piece but at sometimes a big trade off for top end kw

Having your cake and eating it is harder and harder at big power

You can always have your cake and eat it, otherwise what's the point?

Move the trans cooler elsewhere and you wont have that issue.
