Yeah I heard too many scary stories to trust trucking companies. I drove my R31 down to Melb, was happy with the car and drove my Xr6t ute home to Newy. Next week, I caught a train to Syd then a train to Melb and drove my R31 home :)

I feel sorry for anyone that gets their car damaged like that,

There is a bloke around my way that transports single cars around the country, you see his ford truck at the all ford days ,any hot rod show ,auto salon etc,he is a ford nut owning a couple of GTs ,hotrods, started doing this part time when he retired, now its a full time job I will put his number up tomorrow, 0 damage to cars as he is an enthusiast. All insurance companies live under one umbrella. There's a chance that you'd speak to the same rude *beep* regardless of which insurer you're with.

I learned this at the start of the year when we were making multiple claims for car/house damage due to hail through multiple insurance companies.

Spent ages on hold the first time, made small talk with the bloke and said "I'll have to spend another half hour on hold to speak to AAMI now". To which he replied, "give me a second and ill log into the AAMI system and sort that one out for you"

no sure about that, my mates work for RACV and AAMI and dont link across. Are you with JCI as they are part of the aami group.

Paulie mrs convinced me it would be less risk!

Anyhow, Ceva are repairing all damage caused, front bar, wheels, rear bar and undercarriage. Panel shop have had my ute since cup day so 1.5 weeks and when I spoke with them on Friday they had only just finished the undercarriage so I'm due to get it back next week now. I just want to drive my ute, sick of the Kia Rio....

I just worked this out..wow. 53kms with ave 28.5L/100km. That's 14L petty used..nearly a quarter of a tank on 53kms..dafuuuq!!! That's seriously effed up..

Told the old man the story. He laughed when I said Ceva..they're the company with the contract through Ford to transport everything. Pretty ironic lol

Saw this post and just wanted to clarify. Ford Aust do not have a contract with Ceva. They use Toll (Prixcar) as their national carrier. Individual dealers use whoever they want to transport cars to customers or between dealers.

We managed to sort out APIA, AAMI and CGU through the same guy.

Perhaps due to the mass damage caused by hail, all or most of the insurance companies may have set up a call centre filled with people who were able to handle claims for a number of different companies.
