If you remove that black plastic thingy below the number plate there is a bunch of plastic grids (crumple zone stuff) about 40 mm long that sit in front of a metal panel. The grille fits directly under the plastic grid and mounts to the metal by means of two very large self tapping screws (about 6mm dia). As the screws are tightened, the curvature of the metal panel forces the grille to bend and adopt the contour of the back face of the splitter. This makes a very neat fit without any gaps at all and the grille is rock solid. Mind you, a large furry creature at 110 kph is probably going to upset it a tad.

A 10 minute job to fit it.

The Herrod insert is very similar to this one on mine, which I had fitted about 6 months ago. It's similar to the factory grill, and made from powder coated metal.

Fitted with only 2 self tapping screws with small amount of black sealastic which is unnoticable.

Much more professional finish and appearance to that other stuff which (no offence) looks like the cheap mesh that comes from autobarn or Supercheap, and belongs on the rice burners they're intended for.

Cost is $160 fitted by the guy in Bris that makes em, or he does sell em to local Ford dealers, but then you've got a small markup on the price.

'nother pic of the lower grill.

The GTP and Herrod ones are similar, however they each have "Herrod" or "FPV" logo intergrated as well. Looks cool though.

Yeah, Hi Voy

We'll catch up. If you look back on the breast cancer cruise thread (the one we SA people seem to use for any get togethers - maybe we need a new one) you'll find some photos that include my HgAg T, mainly at "carpark capers" so far.

Looking forward to some cruises etc in the new year. Mrs z and I like the idea of weekend afternoon drives eg to near country venues for lunch, BBQ, etc. I'll leave the cruising city streets in the early hours of the morning to you youngsters (and zeke jr - in his own car, not mine!).

Cheers

zeke
