Only 12?????????????????????

Yep, that'll do for a few months. I like to get 'em fresh (ie lots of small bottles instead of one big one).

But yeah, you're right... one box isn't enough... two boxes (ie 24 bottles) would have been preferable. Damn shame they're now closed for the day.

There needs to be a home delivery service for brake fluid bottles, like old fashioned milkmen. Wake up and there's a box of brake fluid bottles on the front door step.

You can get those hose separators above from Pirtek for like $4 each. Come in black blue silver and red. In heaps of sizes. I used them for my earls oil feel line

I stopped by at a Pirtek today and was given a price of $8.90 each one. How did you manage to get them for $4 each?

Found this - some part numbers and pricing: http://www.vpw.com.au/Category/Index/431483

They are distributed by Proflow.

What size? I've just measured the outside diameter of the aluminium pipe in the engine bay and it was roughly 8mm. The braided hose in the kit is about the same. Wouldn't that require an 8mm separator? The -5AN that hawlass mentioned is 12.7mm.

I have no idea why they are probably ripping you off. I live up in central qld were everything is a bit more expensive and to pay for express shipping as well but still worked out to $4 Inc postage.

Not sure what size I brought.

I just got the size to fit the pipe work, and then lined the clip with a strip of rubber to hold the braided line.

PhilMeUp,

I think the confusion around AN sizing is due to it being based on I.d. sizing, where most hoses are measured o.d. Even then there is no gaurantee when it comes to fittings.

This may help explain- https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/document.asp?DocID=TECH00096

I have just had a measure of the braided line and its 7.8mm o.d. ,and looking at my receipt, it lists the line as -4AN (id of course).

The clamps I have are listed as 5/16 (7.9mm), which would make them -5AN o.d. They fit snug but can be turned slightly, so a strip of rubber between the clamp and hose as GeGe6 suggested would work. I may simply file the two flats of the clamp to reduce the I.d. and increase clamping pressure.

I suspect the clamp details in the ali express listing may be a little off with the 12mm measurement, not uncommon in chinglish listings to get lost in translation.

So in summary, -5AN seperator clamps will fit our turbo oil line braided hose, as they are 5/16 I.D. and the hose is 5/16 O.D. or thereabouts.
