It's a matter of doing however much you like and praying you don't get caught.. Some unlucky guys get caught each and every time they take their car out (slight exaggeration)..

Any level of mods makes you fair game for police and EPA to play tag team with your pooh hole.

But if you do get pulled up don't be a *beep* to them.. Do what they ask.. Being nice is generally gonna get you off easier then being an arse to them.

That's f*cked! So anytime you go to the drags, track, powercruise or whatever event you gotta clench and hope you don't get noticed and pulled over.

Do we have any ideas on what gets you in trouble and what doesn't. Can you pass an EPA on e85/eflex so long as pass under noise restrictions?

It's life mate.. We all know things we do to car are pushing boundaries if not completely bulldozing them.. Yes I think we can all say how much it sucks that cops use events like power cruise (or even just walk into a tune shop) to suss out rego plates of modified cars. But what can we do about it? Take two mates in rental hyundais to each event and make them leave first and tell you where the cops are hiding?

As far as the second question goes.. Pretty sure certain mods straight up will cause a defect. Plenum for one (I think), larger turbo, non-stock or parity level cat converter.. List goes on..

So what are the other problems that modding your car can bring.

Obviously lower resale, if not returned to stock.

But what happens with insurance then, say you have agreed value but have a crash it would be easy for them to say illegal mods f*ck off, what about liability and injury, "accident only happened because your car is illegal" then get taken to the cleaners?

With engine mods is it just about emissions crap and so maybe e85 will get you by? Surly one of these things would be more environmentally friendly on e85 that stock.

Just a no brainer guys when your at power cruise and your drag strip remove your number plates and tape over the rego sticker common sense lock your doors cops come into wsid all the time to sus plates and rego out, don't be a hero to the cops but if the cop has a bad day he will screw you as hard as he can.

I've noticed more people seem to get done in Vic than most other states going by the posts on here. In NSW, they only seem to come out for big events, otherwise you're pretty safe. Vic seems to have them randomly on the highway or in the city and stuff.

No idea if its just coincidence but it does seen that they're a lot tougher with enforcement in Vic.
