Mal Wood uses the centre CV spline part of the original shaft in the new shafts as these are not currently available for sale except as a complete shaft from ford.

His shafts are also Chrome moly, where the other quotes I have had are all based on mild steel but for possibly an extra $200 or so can upgrade to chrome moly.

I believe he also eliminates the rubber doughnut and uses a stronger slip yoke and uni.

Waiting on confirmation though to be 100%

Yeah, the hardy's ones are also Chrome Moly you also need to drop your orignal shaft as ratter mentions above. I didn't replace the rubber doughnut, but wish I did have as it is starting to show signs of wear... Will be getting this done shortly

$800 seems pretty good considering a stock one is on ebay for $450. Maybe if its really a hassle for some guys it could be worth buying this one on ebay and getting it sent to the shop to make the new one then sell it again? Not sure what the demand is like for stock tailshafts
