Achilles tyres are generally not good in wet conditions.

For my Tornado, I'm considering the Nexen N'Fera SU1. Cheap and grippy.

I use www.tyrereviews.co.uk to get feedback on tyres that I haven't tried before.

I bought the SU1's as my most recent set on the rears. Almost 20,000kms so far with the occasional skit, in Canberra winter they would spin in 2nd with 340rwkw but now that its warmed up 2nd hooks up pretty well.Definitely worth a try I think. I only paid $220 each for 275/30/20 if I remember right

So ive got them on the rear in a 275 30 20

Abit quieter than my forgiattos and alot grippier and make a great smoke show

Is there a huge difference between the invos and atr sport 2s?

I just put a new set of ATR2 on the front. Achilles seem to have revised the design, previously it was quite narrow a tyre whereas now there is much more of a bulge to the sidewall, tread is the same so not sure how they'll go. I got 30,000 on the front with my last set and still had 50% in the middle, just had to change them for camber wear. I was going to go invos and I know they would provide better grip but for an extra $100 each and half the life I couldn't justify it. Plus my driving style isn't hard cornering so don't need that extra turn in

Is the celica a track car? If so check out westlake semi slicks.. they're like 130 each and my mate runs em on his track car and reckons they're sick for the money.

true semi slicks are 60-100 treadwear, pending compound.

I'd say they could be a well priced STREET tyre, pending age, I have noticed a lot of these tyres are a few years old already by the time they get to perth. next set of fronts ill find a new pair, and see how they are

Yeah I think so. that's the same with my achilles 123s.. get a bit more wear outta them.

I've had ATR2s for 40,000ks on my ute, still 50-60% left on them except for camber wear on the fronts.

I find the performance in the wet to be ok, especially for the price. In the dry with 40,000 kms on them they still perform really well. I've got Bilstein shockies on the ute and love throwing it into corners at speed.

My new wheels will have ATR2s, I can't justify spending considerably more for other tyres when these perform (and last) as well as they do.
