For a laugh we put a full spool in a friends Cortina wagon, parking it was a complete joke and driving in the wet was just dangerous. If its a daily driver or carries family members I would seriously be thinking twice about it

Used to have a full spool in an f100 for work. Thing was beaten up because every time it rained someone would send it off the road.

Fun to drive though.

What's the difference between mini and full spool?

mini uses the diff's original centre (internal centre whether lsd or single wheeler), basically just adds an axle joiner in the centre, a full eliminates the original diff centre and mounts the crown wheel directly on to it

Given its a Dana 44 derivative diff if you have access to a good diff shop who can experiment a little without huge labour costs I think a ARB air locker should be able to work. They are air activated and give a spool when activated but an open diff when not activated

They are a full carrier replacement so you would loose the LSD

There is also electric versions from Detroit that are LSD when off on spool on but not as strong as the ARB

I have them front and rear in my Jeep that has Dana 44's and also had a mate that put one in a Toyota rally car and worked out great as full traction in dirt and open in transport stages

Anyway just another option that is heavily used in 4x4's but rarely seen in street cars but if used on the strip a lot could work out well
