Revive an old thread.

2.0L TDCI Mondeo.

Euro threads talk about running an exhaust system with no Cat.

Mentioned the emissions for Diesels primarily look for soot volume in exhaust.

Not to sure on Aussie requirements.

Any thoughts around this?

I got the Mrs a 2011 Titanium Ecoboost with all the bells and whistles for $24k with 17000km on it... best buy ever! She loves it, and it's luxury and trinkets all the way!... I must say the dual clutch is a blessing compared to the way our FJ Cruised shifted, lol.

I want to tune it, but can't fint ANY info or tuning kits for them.

There are a few of versions of 2L TDCi in the Mondeo depending on what model you look at:

- MA Mondeo had a 96kw/320Nm diesel with a torque converter auto.

- MB Mondeo had a 103kw/320Nm diesel with a torque converter auto.

- MB MY11 Mondeo to current MC have a 120kw/340Nm diesel with the Powershift wet dual-clutch 6 speed.

We have a new Kuga with the same 120kw/340Nm diesel and the Powershift wet dual-clutch 6 speed. Great little engine and the gearbox is is awesome. The Powershift is not as smooth as a converter auto in slow speed up/down hill driving such as carparks but once on the move its supper smooth. Also the wet clutch powershift in the diesel is a lot better than the dry clutch version int he petrol models. The engine has minimal turbo lag and goes very good, much better then what the power figures would suggest. Also averages 6.6-6.8L per 100km. Kuga is heavier than the Mondeo so it should be event better in the Mondeo.

Another option is the EcoBoost 2L in the MC Mondeo. Drove one as loan car a year ago and was bloody impressed with how well it drove.

Power and torque are very average for an engine that size. The korean(Kia-Hyundia) diesels are crapping all over the offerings from the japs and bettering most Euro,s

Googling to see how accurate that statement is. Can neither confirm or deny at this time.

Mazda diesel is good though...

Kia Sportage 1995cc 135kw 392nm

Kia Sorrento 2199cc 145kw 421nm

Hyundia variants have same engines and power
