hey everyone... I have a 2008 model FG XR6T and have had it for 2months now without any problems until now.

Yestaday morning I started the car and let it warm up for a bit, then eventually drove of for about 5minutes then I decided to give it a lil squirt and as soon as I put my foot down the car went nowhere revs went up and according to my boost gauge as soon as it hit boost it went straight to vaccum again and felt like I was in nutrel.anyway thought that was strange so I decided to boot it again and this time it seem like the car overboosted and a little symbol on the dash came up and stayed on all day. Looked up the symbol in the book and it has something to do with emmisions have gone beyond regualations standards. Or possible exhaust catalyic convertor. Has anyone had this sort of issue? The car is completly stock beside a k&n panel filter.

To me it felt like the acuator was sticking and wasn't allowing the turbo to boost. Or as if my cat might be blocked hence it wouldn't boost.

Sorry for the long post. But if anyone got a clue what the issue is before I tke it to ford on monday.

Cheers

Check everything under the bonnet and make sure no boost leaks... The o2 sensor brings up that emissions light so possibly a collapsed cat if the car didn't make any power? Not sure maybe take to ford to diagnose...

Yep check all piping and vacumm hose, clamps are all good and

I've disconnect the battery for 10mins to reset the ecu and now the symbol on the dash has gone but still have the same problems getting on boost. The car booked in tomorrow first thing hopefully they can diagnose the problem ill keep use posted.

Ps: prior to this happening I noticed my car did a strange thing while it was off. I put the key in the ignition and the dash was telling me the car was not in P and won't start. But it was in park and I started the car anyway and wentt away. Any clue why that happend?

clearing the codes could end up costing you more, you may have destroyed any clues to help the techs find your problem quicker which would have meant a cheaper repair

Well ford had a look hook it up to the computer and the code where reading something to do with the actuator and the believe the actuator is the issue. They wanted $750 for a new acuator fitted. I said get it done else where. Meanwhile I decided to pull the vacumm hoses of the turbo aswell as the booost solanoid valve thing clean it all up and back together and the car was back to normal if not better. Strange. So there you go almost gave $750 for nothing.
