my tyres now are 245/40x18 on my G6Et auto, I am looking at buying 245/45x18 I like the bigger sidewall look instead of the big wheels tiny profile you get when fitting 19's or 20's

the increase overall tyre size goes from 658mm to 677mm , am I going to have any dramas with gearing traction control or abs with an increase in size

its only 19mm difference but I just want to be certain

I am also looking at these wheels as well advan rs 10 the pics below are from a fake v8 supercar used for promotion only they are 245/45x18

Wombat,

I'm sure the Ford engineers have deisgned the ABS and traction control for a specific tyre size and would probably say it's operation will be affected but I've noticed no issues with increasing my profile. I went from a 245/35/19 front to a 245/35/20 front. The only issue that I believe is noticable is your speedo will be out. So essentially with the tyre size you've selected will result in an increase in speed of 3.8% more than before. Now Ford speedos are calibrated to read higher so when your speedo reads 100 you are actually travelling about 98, so with the increase profile you'll be travelling at approx 102 when the speedo reads 100.

Benny.

you can change the tyre size in the computer, speedo will have zero error and abs will be sweet

get ford to do it if stock or your tuner to do it if tuned

are you sure about this?

I wouldn't mind going the 40 profile on the rear and 35 on the front (BF) with a 19".
