Hello All

Has been a while- I have spent a bit of time in the BA and getting things done. Recently got new rear shocks and diff bush done. I am at wits end as to what is going on with the old girl, when I start the car hot or cold and I get to the first set of lights and wait there the car feels like it wants to surge forward- the revs drop and it is at a stage where I think it may stall- gets to around 500 RPM. Once it gets going seems ok. I still have a shudder I am thinking that it might be buckled wheels- I have tried to put them at the back but I don't know what options I have other than buying new wheels and hoping this is the problem. Even at idle I feel a slight shudder through the wheel- would a tailshaft balance cause a shudder at idle? In drive or in neutral still has the same feel???

Please help p.s the shudder doesn't matter if I am doing 20Kph or 110kph still the same feel through the wheel- the passenger seat I can see shudder when driving also??? really bloody annoying

Hello the diff bushes are red. Nolothane from pedders- was shuddering before this. Also in regards to the o2 sensor I have already got a new one- been in for about 2 months.? not sure if this is the problem? unless is a faulty one? it was a different look to the original but assured that it is for the XR6T.

??

I have a mate who works for a diff place I might take the car to him and get him to have a look.

Dodgy diff should make a noise as well. Tailshaft/propshaft will still turn when rolling in nuetral. When you say there is a shudder at idle do you mean when rolling? Tailshaft and diff will not cause a shudder when stationary obviously.

hello when I stated in neutral I mean stationary also. I noticed something today, started the car up from cold and the when I turned the steering wheel slightly the vibration through the wheel was really bad- I went full lock from left to right and when turning right it squeeked a little. Could this be an issue with the power steering? As far as the speed goes it is no better or worse at speed- The diff is not noisy- (well typical noise- not crazy. I am at wits end at the moment.

Unfortunately you need to get genuine ford o2 sensors. I had the same issue, my mechanic put cheap non genuine ones in and dis not fix the problem. I put genuine ones in and instant fix. As for the steering shuddering at stationary. Mine has done it every now and then. But not often, would be interesting to find out what it is though.

If you have had the wheels off the ground as in on a hoist or the front jacked up and the wheels have turned (left or right) at all you will get air in the PS system. Purges itself eventually.
