Hey all,

Thought I would chuck up some pics of my new ride since im going tto be frequenting the site alot now.

Purchased it just over a month ago and love it!

Hoping to keep it fairly stock and have trouble free motoring for the rest of its life lol.

but in saying that it will most likely vist xft in the not to distant future lol.

I just went out and did the sub wire swap thing and omg made the sound system sound 10x better.

I've been reading about the ASL Adapter box thingo so you can play dvd through the icc screen but I cant seem to find anyone that used it to play the factory option headrest dvd players through it

does anyone know if it s posible to use them to display on the front screen with the ASL box?

Looking good mate! Good to see you take care of it :) 3 hr wash and wax is a good effort! I think the most I spent was 2hrs and that was me being lazy and going slow

sooooo....

today I drove to work as per normal

get a call about 20mins later from home saying theres a trail of oil down the drive way that continues down the street

I was like what the f*ck cant be my car(checked for an oil light on or something and there was nothing) so I put it down to it must have been a water trail from the aircon or something

3mins later I was at work cars idling fine no lights park it inside to have a look under and it

bam oil f*cking everywhere

I was like WTF so I went down to repco (IN THE WORK CAR) got a jack and some oil some spanners and stuff just incase

jack it up and had a look grabbed the oil filter and it was like 3-4 full turns loose?

has this ever happend to anyone else before??

I haven't even had the car serviced yet as the dealer said they did it just before I purchased the car

so I got a new filter and oil started it and it sounds fine.

what are the chances the bearings in this motor are now f*cked?

there was still about 2 1/2 liters of oil in it as I dropped what was left in it out to measure.

as I understand it the pump fills the filter then the oil goes to the rest of the motor? so oil pissing out at filter means no oil to rest of motor = dead everything?

You really do need to make sure the filters done up pretty tight (but tight enough to come back off on next change).

In terms of damage to the motor I'm no good to answer that! Maybe post in the engine workshop (if you haven't already)
