In the past . I have really enjoyed having a 'factory sunroof' - however , I have always been relucant to have one fitted - unless from factory .. you hear all sorts of horror stories with leaking , electronic failure , tears/torn head liners ..etc .

Further , my understanding has always been , with a factory roof , the roof of the car, has additional bracing to allow the application of the sunroof , and if a roof is fitted to a car outside 'factory' there is insufficient bracing and the sun roof causes a hot spot and will cause it to move overtime .

Not sure how true this is ??? - Does anyone else have any reservations about fitting a sunroof , other than from 'factory' ?

Think you'll find Prestige Sunroofs do a lot of "factory" installations for dealers in VIC. Had one in my BF (dealer option by original owner), no issues with leaks etc.

I know what factory means (hence the "") but don't think Ford did factory installs in the Bx range. Could be wrong though.

Since when did Holden/ford do "factory" sunroofs? (Electric)

I always thought prestige sunroofs took care of all Vic cars anyway.

My previous car VY Calais was ordered by original owner with sunroof, paper work stated when car was finished, then had date in/date out it when sunroof was fitted etc

Turbotrana is on the money though, I've had 2, very rarely used them as one car in particular had leather & sending the amount of dust that hovers in through there is ridiculous

A mate of mine loaned me his Statesman once with a sun roof - luv'ed it. Great for fresh air on sunny days in my opinion.

But when I was looking around - didn't find a second-hand T with sun-roof and leather and tow bar etc.
