I haven't received my car yet, but searched for a reasonable priced lower grill. I didn't like the Herrod one as I prefer one with no markings.

I had paid $75 inclusive of postage with instructions on how to put it on. They are based in Geelong and can fit them if you are a local. In Vic there are not many who supply them.

You can email Steve Voice on " the_grump@optusnet.com.au " and he will send you pictures. Its a metal mesh that is powder coated black. I am pretty sure they can powder coat in a few colours. If you have any questions please do not hestitate to email him.

His postal address is as follows;

STEVE VOICE

PO Box 30

Newcomb

Victoria

3219

I hope this helps people in Vic as a supplier and even others.

Let him know you got the details from this site as I got his permission to let others know.

Have sent my email already. This bloke should end up paying you some sort of kick back if these are nay good, most will want one at that price.

Thanks for the tip.

Sounds great.

Can you give us an idea of what was involved in the installation of it?

How long it took you to install?

Was any drilling involved?

What holds it in place (cable ties)??

Once installed is it likely to come loose?

I went trawling through the yellow pages prior to finding the grilles on this forum, so I came up with my own solution. Found some stainless steel expanded metal and with about an hour of work, had it fitted. As I chose 2mm thick stainless, it is very strong and only required fixing by two bolts at the top. If you own a drill and a grinder, anything is possible.

I thought of painting it black but the bright stainless finish appealed to me so I stuck with it.

In the attached photo, sorry about all the bugs and crap on the front of the car, please forgive me, I just drove from Melb to Syd and washing the car has not yet fit into the schedule.

BTW, $60 for the materials

Tried the larger mesh (same as the GTP) but didn't like the look of it. It seemed to be too much of the same and unless identical in size and pattern to the upper grille, it looked a little out of place. The smaller mesh on the bottom to me gave a better contrast. Good grief, what am I saying, the next thing I will be doing interior f...... decorating on some reality TV show. ;)
