Hi all,

GT is only 400kms old.. Brakes never squeak moving forward, but reversing and applying the brake gently they are quite loud. Any ideas why? Im hoping it will disappear soon. Few people looking at my new GT squeak as I reverse out of car parks... not cool!

That doesnt really answer my question.......... nor doesnt it make much sense to me. I've never heard of comfortable brakes.

Seems to be more the rear brake caliper design that causes it, the pads have no rattle shims or anything which causes a squeal, also if the handbrake isnt adjusted properly it can cause a squeal in reverse

Focuses and mondeos have very "comfy" and quiet brakes but they need replacing every 30k or less, theres always a trade off and fpvs trade nvh for performance

It's a common issue Chillr. Sorry I don't have a fix for you but I'll tell you you're not alone. A different pad may fix the issue but I'm not sure.

Ok cool. I was thinking about putting some better pads in anyway.

When I got my VE R8 brand new in 06 the brakes werent noisy. Infact they seemed to pull up better than these... No biggy. Ill hunt for some new pads..

Its only got 400 kays on it....

Hows about you give the pads, rotors some time to bed in, wear in, get some dust in the nicks n crannies, heat cycles happening, and then go from there?

Make sure handbrake is adjusted, chamfer the rear pads and buy some antisqueal compound, will fix it for 2-3000ks
