the kpm fuel reg. maintains 4bar even though ill be running a much bigger pump than the standard in tank fuel pump would flow.

This is due to being able to flow out the bigger relief/return than standard.

whats that mean mate ?

aftermarket fuel regs can let more fuel out of the rail, if your fuel pump/pumps are delivering a lot more fuel to the fuel rail then it needs to go back to the tank too. The stock reg will let the pressure go over 4 bar and cause more fuel to be sent through the squirters . . . and out the exhaust pipe after it cleans your bores

edit - plus the benefits of being adjustable are handy too

Hopefully I should be getting the car back this week with getting the fuel pump swapped to the A1000 and a retune.

How does the A1000 compare with the 044 in terms of noise??

It will be louder than 1 044 but not louder than 2 044's.

It also depends on how its mounted and if they use rubber feet to absorb the vibration.

The fuel hoses can also be a factor as stiffer hoses will not absorb as much vibration as a softer hose.

Got my car back today with a little more than I bargained for but its nice to have the car back :)

Heres some piccys of the new shiny bits

heres the new fuel rail and ID1000's. The other rail setup couldn't cope with the extra pressure of the A1000 that's why it needed to be changed

new turbosmart reg. and gauge along for the ride too :victory:

And finally the pump..

Im going to organise some rubber mounts or something for this thing... just not sure how yet as I cant really get a good enough pic since my car is lowered... I'll have to chuck it up on the hoist at my old mans and sort it out but its solid mounted at the moment.

What are other people doing to mount theres? Any pics? Ive heard of people normally using rubber or something but is there a particular type you can buy from somewhere that makes it an easy fix? Sorry about all the questions.

I have to sort it out in the next couple of days though as the noise is dredful, to the point I can even feel the vibration through the steering wheel at idle..hahaha. This beast sounds nothing like the 044, its much much deeper and alot louder atm :training:

The car feels happier than it did before now though nothing really to be had up top but between 2500 and about 4ish it feels better which is good.

Atleast the cars not struggling for fuel anymore so at least its running safer than before with the maxed out injectors I was running.

The car made 415rwkw on e85 and 413 on eflex cant remember what the 98 tune is atm but it doesnt really matter anyway..

ohh yeah also this

Ok say I have made a recording of what the fuel pump sounds like by itself after I bridged the relay... the car is not running just the pump is

I have found the fuel pump has a solid hose connection back to the surge tank itself which may complicate things a little as it is a 90 degree bend.

I don't think the video does it justice of how loud it really is... Its even vibration through to the steering wheel.
