Not sure if anyone will admit to it! But I wanted to start a topic about stupid mistakes you have done to your car!!

Heres my one:

Took the stock wheels off the ute to fit on some new ones. But the new wheels needed new nuts. So back go the old wheels

2 weeks later the new wheel nuts have arrived and I go to take off my old wheels again... that's when I find that the front drivers side wheel only has 3 nuts holding it on!!

f*cked up somewhere along the line! Sorry if you got hit by any wheel nuts on the freeway in the last month lol. I have checked over and over again that these new ones are nice and tight. And they are all still there after a week!

Anyway, surely I cant be the only one......

I'm pretty sure someone posted a thread once that they're rear door wouldn't open from the inside and they spent hours trying to figure out why, and yep you guessed it, child lock was on lol.

My stupid thing was that I went and spent like $500 to get offset bushes put in the upper control arms after lowering the car just to find that It wasn't enough and I don't have a factory fitted camber adjustment and now I gotta go spend another $800 to put adjustable upper control arms in!

My stupidity cost me a lot of money! wouldn't mind if I lost a couple of wheel nuts instead lol

Well mine is sort of two of us..

A mate topped up the oil in his excel.. And it started blowing smoke.. Asked how much he put in the response was "a whole bottle but I still couldn't see any oil in it"..

Put it on stands and I proceeded to strip the head of the sump plug.. With no welder handy I decided to go to repco and buy a new one.. Then laid down under the car and proceeded to drill out the existing sump plug..

I'm guessing this doesn't need much more explaining and by now you've all figured out that I had approximately 9 litres of oil dumped on me and this explains why my current cordless drill costs 12 bucks from Big W.. Ryobi drills just aren't meant to get that much oil in them..

O and buying a $11,500 car then driving 6 hours get home and check the dip stick to find NO oil!!!

Wasting money on eBay cats, ebay monza intercoolers, bent rims from eBay...pretty much anything eBay related ..

Go to respectable tuner tell them how much power you want, pickup car, happy days.

After fitting my growler kit to my FGt ute, I couldnt get the bonnet to shut for the life of me. I was carrying on, slamming it in anger and it just wouldnt shut!! - after 15 mins of losing my Sh!T I realised I had left a socket set on top of the motor... then enjoyed looking at 2 nice high spots in my bonnet! ..... Go me.
