I wouldn't say that its definitely more important than money - you still have to make sure that your family is covered and you aren't stressing yourself out living from week to week and pinching pennies.

The truth of the matter is Jet.. Once you start caring more about job satisfaction over money.. You've basically decided what you want in life anyways..

EDIT: But what Senna said makes sense.. However Jet doesn't seem to be pinching pennies to survive..

Totally agree - I don't think Jet s struggling either, but he's only 30, changing jobs no leaves a long time to be earning less...

In saying that you have your trade qualifications so you can always go back to that Jet

I suppose that's the tricky part having that balance of money vs job quality

It feels like ive hit a stop at work where I dont care about anything anymore I know that I could learn another aspect of electrical or get another cirt but I just love the car thing

Its a bloody pitty that the average mech is so disregarded as a quality trade

I also dont want to fall into the old grass is greener chit aswell, maybe ill try to get a part time gig or something see how it goes

Yeah leaving on good terms and not burning bridges leaves a bit of a safety net if things don't go so well in the new venture, I really wanted to burn mine with a few people at my last job but the older and wiser me thought that would be a bad move if things do go south for me.

I guess also you need to look at your career, and what can you see yourself doing in 15 years time.

Can you see yourself still being a sparky when your 45? Or a mechanic?

Cars are awesome at the moment, cause you ran a 10, XR6's are the flavour of the month, yada yada. But the novelty will wear off.

The main reason I left my last job was I couldnt see myself going any higher, no more challenges. Nothing to make me stop, think, and say "sh!t, how are we gonna get out of this one"

Where I am at the moment I get those "sh!t how are we going to get out of this" moments nearly on a daily basis.
