2006 Bfii Xr6T - Brake Shudder - Help Needed

My mechanic swore black and blue that the DBA 4000 front rotors and Bendix pads would fix the brake shudder problems I have had since the car was about two years old. I also had new rear disks and pads fitted at the same time.

This worked beautifully for about 4,000 kms, then the shudder returned and has done every 4,000 to 5,000 kms. Each time on car machining of the front disks has been required as a temporary fix. Now the shudder is back and the disks cannot be machined again.

From reading on here I understand that the real problem could be: warped or dirty hub flanges, and/or dodgy lower control arm bushes, and/or a cactus break booster, and/or sticking break callipers (have I left anything out????).

I live in the Inner West of Sydney, and am hoping that someone can recommend a brake guru who can fix this problem once and for all.

My wife mainly drives the car and her braking can best be described as gentle.I always have the wheels torqued to 115 Nm. The car has done around 95,000 kms.

Thanks for your help. John.

Mine was fixed 90% with front bushes replacement (superpro). New Remsa pads then seemed to kill the last of it but maybe the mob who fitted the pads found something that needed tightening.

I have the same set up on a BF Mark II,(DBA4000 Wiper Slot and Bendix Ultimates), I went through 2 sets of front rotors and stil the shudder kept coming back. I even met up with Aron from DBA and he actually had a look at my rotors, pulled them right off and inspected the hubs for rust scaling etc...he said the rust scaling on the hub was the problem.

So I went away and cleaned the hubs before putting on a new set of front rotors and slowly but surely the shudder came back...so I have just accepted the fact that they shudder now...

I had the same issue with mine. Ended up taking the car into my suspension place just to get a wheel alignment and he noticed straight away my bushes were gone.

Got them changed and fixed the problem 100% ive done 20,000km or so since and they have been fine

Front Lower control arm front and rear bushes fix this issue. Get Superpro units from P@ @ WHS. While its apart a new rubber shock bush and SP upper control arm bushes are also worth doing
