Howdy guys, got a substantial leak somewhere and may have tracked it down.I have had to clean from the fuel tank to the front of motor, oil is only on passenger side.

I have cleaned her all up and found that the lower intake manifold bolts(ones to head)seem to be leaking.I had her running for 5 minutes after cleaning everywhere and after 5 minutes of shutdown some oil appears around the head of the bolt seeping through lower manifold gasket.

Could oil somehow be forced under boost into the manifold and then leak through my apparently ever so slightly leaking manifold gasket, idle is still fine.I only run a catch can on the rocker cover vent,PCV valve is as from the factory.

PS:tried to donate but wont accept Visa,is this correct?

Cheers for all responses!

just donate to my account mate haha. with the factory pcv u would not believe how much oil gets into the intake mani. and if the mani bolts are loose, could be getting through there. how much oil though - the cars runs sweet yeah ?? see if those bolts are loose.

Ok,bit of a update. The back of the firewall is splattered with oil and the fuel rail/injectors.What ever it is must only happen under boost as its not leaking stationary in my driveway.

can a rear main make the oil go that high in the engine bay, even the base of throttle body has some splatters?

I dont think its the manifold leaking the oil but I know she is leaking air as brown air stains are around the lower manifold port holes.

having the oil get as far back as the fuel tank cover makes me concerned though, maybe the trip to mallala at highway speed pushed the leak from the front all the way back.

Have you had a look around the oil pressure switch area for leaks?

You really need to run it while it's on a hoist to find where it's coming from.
