All it means is that the starting viscosity of the oil is closer to what the engine requires at operating temp. You don't say!Makes me wonder why N/A engines use 10-40 and the T uses 15-40... Meh, never mind I'm sure you know best.

Very important to let the car warm up properly though. I drive 20 Ks before I give it a good thrashing.

FWIW Nulon 10w40 and Edge 0w40 would go up to and past 120c when thrashing hard for awhile, but Edge 10w60 never went past 115c. If I put an oil cooler on ill go back to Edge 0w40
xrBlitz Member 19 Member For: 15y 11m 6d Gender: Male Location: Sydney Posted 24/09/12 11:57 AM Author Share Posted 24/09/12 11:57 AM So Edge 10w60 with a 30min warm up before giving it a squirt, or Edge 0w40 with oil cooler if your thrashing it for a long duration, what if you only boost off the line at a set of lights once in a blue moon, would Edge 0w40 be fine to use? And for everyday driving? Also, I ended up buying Transmax Z for the t56, I had to buy 2x4Lts bottle at $75 each as they didn't have any 1Lt or 2Lt bottle at any of the local ripco or superheap, so my question is, what sort of shelf life does an open bottle of this stuff last for, I do around 10k km a year in the car so I probably won't need to change it for 2 or so years.
