boost69 Donating Members 737 Member For: 19y 10m 16d Posted 20/09/12 11:05 PM Share Posted 20/09/12 11:05 PM Guys,I have a stock standard FG XR6T, and when the car comes on boost it doesn't have that typical high pitched whistle, the sound pitch is a bit off.(sort of sounds like a supercharger)Took it to Ford the other day and they tightened a few of the exhaust manifold bolts, but turbo sounds the same, and they reckon the turbo noise is normal.There turbo noise is easily heard in the cabin, and I just want to know if other FG XR6Ts, sound the same.Also want to confirm that the slight back fire in between gear changes (auto)...is normal for the car also...apparently this is spark cut out? boost69 Donating Members 737 Member For: 19y 10m 16d Posted 21/09/12 12:10 AM Author Share Posted 21/09/12 12:10 AM Yeah I have actually heard allot of the R Spec, and GTI Golfs do it...but wasn't sure if this was normal for the FG's...Ok so we have confirmed the fart is normal, was worried the fart could possibly turn into a sh*tting of the pants scenario...lol...As far as the turbo noise goes...I might have to take the car passed one of the reputable tuners on this website, and get them to have a listen.
