in response to the OP.

Mods for less boost for more power...

Plenum is good for making easier power for the effective boost level (or inlet manifolds in general).

Intercooler with less "PSI loss", eg an intercooler that loses 3PSI as the air flows through it, means your turbo has to work harder (hotter, more air density etc), and say make 20PSI to make 17PSI at the throttle body, whereas an intercooler with less boost drop will mean the turbo flows at a safer (cooler, less air density) level to make the same power at the throttle body.

As for anything else, it's all in the tuner's management of boost (as above)

hows this for funny, rang bruce and while it was ringing stopped to tell my mate "I always wipe to keep it clean"(rocker cover that is). When bruce answered all he heard was I always wipe to keep it clean.....he said"ahhh do ya now" haha.

Anything that affects air flow is going to affect what boost is required to make a certain power level but I believe exhaust will have more of an impact than intake side, but engine condition is going to have a huge affect, some cars will just not make the expected power without using heaps of boost, had this happen to us this week.

There are many twin 2.5" exhausts that do not flow well

Thanks guys for the input,

Just weird seeing different cars with same mods putting out different boost figures, my dump & cat is overkill I was told :/ but then it goes to twin 2.5" with only one exhaust!

Yeah might speak to him and say I want the E85 tune more aggressive an see what he says :)

Hardware and engine / gearbox condition aside, spark advance is the most common aspect that affects power output (from my limited experience anyway). Last time I had my car on the dyno, at 15psi my datalogs show that 1 degree of timing equates to ~7rwkw. Good hardware mods will support the ability of the motor to accept more timing....thus making more power.

I have slightly less mods than you yet make almost as much power. I was told that my standard exhaust was holding me back from making any more power on the same boost.

My engine also has 1 million kms on it so I guess every car is just that little bit different.

I'm pretty sure my tune is fairly aggressive too as boost comes in hard and fast. No idea of the timing in it.
