hey all,

has anyone changed their 2:73 diff gears in the fg xr6t to 3:23 etc? what was the difference like?

I went to 3:73's in the xr8 (5 speed manual) and it was noticeably quicker off the mark, thinking about doing the same with the turbo to get out of the hole a bit quicker at the strip

thoughts please.

cheers

in a turbo it needs the low gears to load the turbo quicker.

years ago a few lads were doing this mod and havin negitive effects on the strip, both in BTR 4speed and zf

foon here in s.a has put the 3.23 gears on his bf2 f6 and he likes them with the zf

yeah if I was to do them 3:23's would be the maximum I'd go to.

I know now that my tyres are what's letting me down in the launch/60' department. ( I'm waiting on my nitto dot radials, but I think they have been sent to christmas island after swimming over from the states!! ordered them nearly 10 weeks ago ffs)
