Hey all,

My 02 BA xr6turbo is playing up and I was hoping someone could offer some suggestions as to what the problem may be. It is runing the generic 10psi capa tune from the old flash1 box. Only mods other than that is centre muffler removal, 3"cat back (dont know why the bloke before me didn't go the twin 2.5?) and I am runing a pod filter off the turbo . Have been meaning to get it tuned but havn't had the chance yet due to finacial reasons.

In the last month I noticed the T starting to slightly miss on full boost. Over the weeks its gotten progressivly worse and now it sounds as if all cylindors are missing as its a very fast knocking sound...Simular to when traction control kicks in that sort of sound. This happens under moderate acceleration. Its not just at high revs, if I put it into 4th and boost it up it will happen. There is a large loss of power. It also often backfires and runs very rough following the backfire for about 1 minute. A friend of mine suggested the tune (he thought it sounded like it was starving fuel) but when I flash it back to standard 5psi factory tune it still has the same problem. Does anyone have any suggestions on what it may be?

Thanks guys!

Andy

How often do these die?

Seems like I only changed my ones 5-6 months ago and the tell-tale symptoms are returning again.
