Farkers

Separate thread. Important ? Well we will sew ( or knit) and trash that puddin' thread

(Sorry freaks)

http://www.ruokday.com/

This type of stuff is really important and is reasonably well supported to date

Though it should be said that this is all about more than a single day.

It is about a synchronized network of support ongoing.

So who is it that is going to tie all these non profit organizations together to support those in need?

Profiles and efficiencies of scale are necessary to raise the profile of suicide ,causal factors and subsequent symptoms?

Prevention is always better than cure.

In my opinion this all needs linkage at a senior level.

Clinical expertise, support at a corporate level inclusive of all forms of media ,Government and most importantly

strategic and KPI'ed outcomes for success.

Ability to penetrate all levels of business is key to ultimate success. There is no joy in Silo's with windows !

Statistically, depression and the resultant effects are a definite impediment on lives, families and the knock on effects to the economy

should not be understated.

The challenge remains to give the best bang for your buck in ensuring business support to get their best value

in supporting mentally ill and challenged communities ( up to 1 in 5).

Think about it ? Invest the same in a very worthwhile cause as a corporate entity.

Achieve better coverage, create greater good and you will be a better corporate citizen with a wider reach

for your companies continued generous contributions ?

There is a lot of replication of effort. Is it time for an association or another professional body

to represent those who cannot ?

Times are getting tougher, no doubt. Donations and other contributions corporately will

continue to fall outside of corporate charters and budgets.

We need more on board, the question is how

my 2.2 cents

Good work Buff,

Depression isn't an easy thing to live with if it effects you directly or even if you are the partner (or best mate) of someone that is depressed.

Sometimes there can be a knock on effect where you as the freind/partner can be the person to lean on, when really after that you may need an outlet yourself.

I can't stress enough, if you think someone is being "emo" maybe you should actually ask them if they are really troubled or if they are just taking the piss...

Different times, different circumstances, different norms.

Cave men also didn't drive around in vehicles, dare you to walk everywhere in your life and catch the food you eat :P

It's a pretty big thing these days, and leads to things that shouldn't happen. Prevention where known is always better than letting something get to a point where you wish you had done something about it.

That's exactly the kind of thinking that leads to someone spiralling into a case of depression Jet.

Lets go hypothetical - Say a mate of yours is struggling financially, he carries on a goes to work but he's been living above his means or he had a customer ditch a big job on him and he has been left out to dry with debts owing. If all he hears is mates such as yourself saying "Oh these bloody whingers should be having a teaspoon of cement blah blah blah" then he automatically assumes that he can't talk to you about it without losing face.

As a result he goes on worrying about his family/house/business but he can't discuss it with his nearest and dearest because they will call him a pussy. Then he starts to lose sleep over it, then he can't stop thinking about the problems he has. This makes him upset and angry, he becomes short tempered with co-workers and his wife etc etc.

Things can get out of hand easily and even though I'm sure you would say that it would be perfectly fine for a mate to come and open up to you about these things - perhaps they don't think its ok because your public impression of that kind of situation is "harden up princess"...

Dear all

not a great idea this thread in hindsight.

the padlock man cometh.

I seriously doubt most members on here are

1/ interested in the national issues of the day

2/have ability to argue economics/ politics/ social policy

3/ have the intellectual rigour to do same on a broad level

4/ have an interest to start with

Owners demographics have changed big time in the last 10 years.

So with it their interests. 10 years ago you had to have 40+ ks to get into a basic T.

now you can get one for $10k, no offence intended. Cars get old quick in OZ and , much farkin cheaper.

I would sell mine tomorrow, but there is no point.

Just have to get used to a 5+ year old car with 80k on the clock. Love it.

No direct inference to any above posters , just a bad idea it seems to speak about other issues

Good topic cause with some legs, good concept , but I think I will stick to more

relevant forums. My personal views and politcal leanings have no real place here.

Just not relevant any more ( good concept though). It is a car forum after all

Cheers

Jules
