I own a G6ET may 09 built car and I purchased 2nd hand at 60,000kms. The problems Ive experienced include;

A rough idle when the car starts and even into my driving time, the car rocks side to side and shakes back to front and makes a really weird noise like a reving noise. Its almost like the car has a cam, just without the nice note and power to go with it. - It has been in the ford dealer on 5 separate occasions now and 2 different locations, they can never seem to find it, however my 16 yr old brother who knows noting about ars often asks whats wrong with the car - I was originally told by one guy who could find an issue it was the battery, this has now been replaced twice and is not the problem..... which brings me to my next issue;

My Battery has been replaced twice and is still going FLAT and wont even turn over, shows no lights and tells me there is an error that not even ford or raa understand :/

My Temperature sensor is always 6 degrees less than actual temp outside

Bluetooth dropping in and out - despite me being advised its been repaired - twice

iPod connectivity not working

Heater would only blow hot air out of the paired vents and freezing cold out the other vent and as a result they replaced the heater shaft and ripped the dash out which has now left me with a ticking noise coming from the top of the dash, which the dealer is now telling me is a common issue that comes with them and it wasnt there before because the shaft wasnt working properly....hmmmm sounds a bit funny you replace one issue with another and its a common thing :/

Leaking OIL - not aircon fluid as they have tried pushing me away and telling me ( I think the photos and colour can clearly resolve their incompetence on this one but still what could it be)

Fuel Consumption is nowhere near what they suggested it to be at the dealership, and IM not naieve to understanding the fuel usage and know they whack a fair bit on it but that's just a joke Im only getting about 350km to a tank if iM lucy and that's with me driving like a nana - owned a 360rwkw ve sss with cam and 6.2ltr before and that's the fuel consumption I got in that!

The fuel gage is now showing a 1/4 of a tank when you put 35-40 litres of fuel in????? but range suggests 320km

The above are the major issues I want some answers on and the following are just some of my pet peeves;

that I didnt take much notice of when buying (coming from VE SS) the cabin size is so small and for me who is rather tall (and my partner also) with 2 carseats in the back its getting a bit ridiculous, I cant sit back and drive in the position I feel comfy to especially if we have an extra passenger sitting behind me :/

The luxury and power of the vehicle is undebatable in my opinion but there seem to be alot of issues that this particular car have and Im not shy to make them obvious!!!

After I got my last car tuned, I noticed that the fuel consuption went up 1-1.5L/100km. The range etc was wayy out too. Perhaps the car has been tuned and you don't know it?? Maybe you could get it flashed back to stock and see how you go. I have a slightly rough idle now in a car that has done 1500km. Doesn't happen always, but you can feel it slightly miss when sitting at some lights.

The only warranty issues I had in the 0-25,000km I had the car for was a loose steering column (in and out movement) and leaking rear diff backing place. Both were fixed under warrenty. The aircon wasn't cold enough for my liking either, which I never complained about.

My temp sensor is the same allways reads about 5. - 6. Degrees below

I am nearly 2 meters tall and I think the cabin space is great

What fuel consumption are you getting on a freeway and around town if I'm cruising up the f3 freeway the lowest I have seen on the dash 7.0 litres / hundred Km's now that is driving nice and carefully just cruising

I assume it's out of manufacturers warranty (doesn't have extended)? Did you buy it from a dealer or private?

It seems like the original owner was a fruitloop. Pretty much all of those issues did occur on some of the earlier builds and should have been rectified under warranty, never heard of them all happening on the one car though! :pinch:

Rough idle/chewing batteries. Fair indicator that the alternator is rooted or dodgy wiring somewhere. If it's not getting a full charge then it will cause all sorts of issues with your electronics as well.

Temperature reading - known issue that required replacement of the sensor under the passenger side mirror.

Bluetooth/Ipod - module probably needs upgrading as the earlier ones had issues, some were resolved with new software and others required replacement.

Leaking oil - faulty batch of seals or studs that should have been replaced.

Fuel consumption - not sure there but possibly related to the dodgy electrics/alternator

Fuel gauge - was a batch of dodgy fuel senders, obviously yours should have been replaced.

Cabin space - never heard that gripe. My FG was the first vehicle I've ever owned or driven that I haven't had to have the seat back as far as it goes so I'm not sure what's going on there sorry.

Good luck!

My timing cover was leaking at 10,000k's only major issue for me.

But must say I have had a few glitches in ICC (flash on off or start up icon walk across screen) while driving on freeway.

This has only happen since the timing cover was fixed!

I have a tuned FG and its start is pretty rough. I put it down to the tune and injectors but it might be the ford factory tune also as I have heard a few stock cars with this start up issue.

I have the cold air on one side and hot air on the other side issue also. I think there is a faulty batch of early controllers that do this job as this is another common problem. I am in two minds to try and claim it under warranty as it was a known issue during warranty. The dillema I have is do I want a bunch o wf Ford apprentice mechanics pulling my dash apart and phucking up other stuff or do I keep it as it is with a 10 degree difference between vents. I think I am going to keep it as it is and maybe deal with it one day when someone does a good write up on the repair.

I replaced my outside temp sensor and its still out. Just leave it.
