Okay so doing some browsing, and have come across Rapids v2.5 kit.

From the website:

V2.5

$1399

4inch ntake system

K&N Pod style air filter

Bar & Plate Intercooler

3inch cold side piping IC to TB

stainless clamps

Quality Silicon hose joiners

BOV outlet & return hoses

Boost sensor fittings

Retains factory hot side

Engine breather hose

note; no airbox

Okay, things I'm not sure about so if anyone has an answer, let me know: (have also sent Chris from rapid an email asking about it)

I'm posting this here just to see if I get a quicker response or if someone else has had the same issues/questions and got answers for them.

4inch intake system description says it comes with an allow airbox, why doesn't this kit? And what would it cost extra to get one to make it legal and all?

What size is the intercooler core?

What happens with the battery? 4 inch system goes where battery is, but it doesn't mention that a relocation will be needed, or if it comes with anything to remount/locate the battery.

For $1399 is there a better package out there?

Ta

Alright so I got a reply from Chris, for those of you who are interested. Was a pretty good reply:

Hi mate

The v2.5 aka Outlaw kit, is basically a stripped down v3.5 kit... Like a bang for buck set up that's makes big power but some parts that don't contribute to making power are removed from the kit, such as airbox and battery swap.

Most guys that buy this kit are able to move the battery themselves, either to the tray of ute or boot, and like to run the raw open intake.

We have 3 intercoolers to choose from , Street series 460x400x90 which fits in without cutting, the bigger Highflow 500x400x90, price is the same.

The other cooler is made by plazmaman for us, is also 500.400.90 with plazmaman swept endtanks, add $350 for this cooler.

Feel free to ask any questions mate or call

So, how hard is it to relocate a battery by yourself? And, could any metal place machine up a box for the airbox? I'd leave it open, but don't really want to get pulled for it (although I think just be relocating and changing the air intake anyways it's yellow stickerable?)

By the time you stuff around getting one made, taking the car to this place and that place.. you would of been better off just getting the Rapid 3.5 kit. I had one on the R-Spec and it was great. Battery and air filter were in the airbox.

I can get the air box and battery relocation with battery for an extra 700, so would work out at just under $2100.

v3.5kit is $2559 and is the same thing but adding the hotside piping to it too.

I didn't really want to spend 2k lol but just paid off credit card so have some money to throw. Trying to keep debt as low as possible as I have a fair bit of it still anyways lol.

Yeah that would be good GTE.

What other options are there between $1500-$2000 for full kit, with turbo side intake and battery relo if needed?

Don't want an under battery intake either as apparently they are balls and risky (otherwise I'd get the V1.0 kit from rapid with an under battery for less than 1500)

I could get the 2.5 kit and get this:

http://www.tuspeed.com/process-west-xr6-turbo-battery-relocation-kit-p-1463.html

Then just another 195 for the airbox or if GTE's works out better to just get that made up.

haha Luke, funny guy :P

He said he can do the v2.5 kit with under battery intake for $1300 delivered with the street cooler (no cutting).

That seems like a pretty good deal to me

In regards to under battery intake, he has told me this after I mentioned I'd love the under battery because of cost, but was hesitant because of the risk of water getting into it:

Yeah the under bat intakes are great for that reason, as long as you have all the factory shields in place water won't be a problem... Unless you go in deep water, which would get into the stock airbox too, so I wouldn't worry about it.

Haha this is true, but the distance between the battery intake, and under battery intake is so minimal lol. Especially compared to the current stock intake system.

He has a point though where as long as I have all the stock shields in place, nothing -should- get into it. How many people are using an under battery intake on here I wonder?

Did you do the battery relocation yourself Kosij? And where did you get the custom intake from?
