Unlucky mate. We shouldn't have mentioned the T word prior to you lining up. Still though one if the best looking T's going around.

Time now for a built shaft and some 10 lbs MT launches!

lol.. no mate.. I definitely jinxed myself on this one..

Yeah looks better when its moving on its own accord !! lol

Yours looks very stealth .. that matt back was getting attention all night. People were walking up to it..wanting to touch it to see what the finish was..

You know it was never going to be this "type of car"

Just wanted a stock daily.. Im getting in too deep lol

Ive managed to get a new stock tailshaft assembly from Ford today for a steal.. (relatively)

So Ill get it mobile then have the custom one made.

Yep Pete.. its unfortunate but hey.. sh*t happens

Its a ZF mate..

Was also good to meet Leo and Stevan last night, impressive times for both you guys.

Stevan , chuck some sticky tyres on and I'm sure you'll sneak into the 11's

Cheers mate. It was good meeting you, Veva and Leo last night. I still think if I can perfect my launch (currently sh*t LOL) then I'll get an 11. Then we'll go to an ET street or NT05R

Your hooked now Jimmi. Once you get that new shaft you will be fine. They are a weak point.

Quick question for you Jimmi, what part of your tailshaft failed?

I am looking to upgrade mine too.

Twisted and bent the rear shaft.. between centre bearing and diff.

So as it twisted it shortened and literally ripped it out of the rear CV joint. Not pretty.

All back together as of this arvo. New shaft (standard), fuel tank guard and new(second hand) centre muffler assembly. I was lucky there wasn't any floor damage.

Worst sound Ive ever heard in a vehicle.. apart from my ex.. but anyway that's another story !! lol

I would urge any one and everyone looking at upping the ante to look at upgrading. Since wed nite its amazing how many other tailshaft tales Ive heard. And not just modded T's..even standard are destroying them. One guy in a BF MKII destroyed his just from a bit of axle tramp. The vehicle had 56k on it.

Cops are doing them as are taxis.. its crazy.

Rednose has given me some direction and Ive spoken to another driveshaft mob..

Theres afew different options to go with.

From modding your standard shaft to a full custom.. which im leaning towards.

Delete rear CV and upgraded to a uni joint, bigger centre bearing and carrier.. etc

Round about the 1500 mark..

But I suppose we dont see it as a performance gain so its not on the top of our "to do list"..

Its just taken 1st place on mind..just pure and simply for peace of mind

If anyone wants pics..PM me and you can post if everyone wants to see

Cheers

Jimmi you have it spot on! Reason I havent done anymore work on mine in over 12 months is the fact that im not confident with the shaft & box in stock format.

When I get time to part with my car for a week or 2 il get her in to do the shaft and strengthen up the ZF. I got to do my rear bushes and alighn my cradle. Then

il be happy to do a bit more work on her and stall her up with confidence at the track.
