Anyone in the brissy area with a car in need of desperate loving dont bother doing it yaself give James (rancid) a call & get him to sought it out. Its been over 12mths since mine was done & its only now looking like it could do with a little touchup. Originally it got rid of 4yrs scratches, swirls, water marks & general wear & tear. Apart from the normal stone chips it turned out better than the day it was delivered.

that's a good option although get the Naviwax now and start using it straight away. You will get some protection on the paint and it does have a small filling quality so will take the edge off of the swirls. Set aside 3-4hrs and wash the car thoroughly and then use the decontamination process mentioned above. Rinse the car down and dry it. The surface is going to be in good shape to apply the wax. That alone should be good for 2-3 months for you.

Needs some advice from some pro's here (probably rancid). Got a quote today to have a cut and polish and they said $150 (previously been quoted $300) and he said they hit it once to cut and once to polish. The guy that quoted me $300 said it needs to be cut once and polished twice.

Don't wanna be a tight ass and then have to have it re-done again down the track because I cheaped out!

What's the general process to basically remove the swirls in a black car and roughly what would it cost (If you don't mind me asking)

Cheers

150 bucks would be the a nice quickie job, id steer clear

the 300 bucks job sounds about right ish

there a lots of different techniques by everyone,

I use a cut, then a finer cut, then a polish or gloss polish. so a 3 step!

you need to ask what they are actually doing

300 is a good Price. I own a couple of panel shops... I wouldnt do it for 300... seing the photos Id do it for 4-5. Id give each panel a LIGHT 2000 wet, followed by 3000 trizac. White waffle pad and good cutters.. for me its either 3M, or BATCH do good stuff... Grey waffle pad with a solo/medium cut then a new black waffle for wax. dont do it urself........ that is all.
